So, here I was, waiting for Lawrence to arrive and he is currently a no show. It is almost 10am (9:57am to be exact) and I was contemplating what to do because I do not want to be late for this meeting. I was expecting him to be outside the parking lot waiting for me and he is not here. So, -after much thinking- I got out of the vehicle and walked around the campus twice (I got a bit lost) to find the piano room located at the N building.
There are times I’ll catch Lawrence looking at me unaware. I mean, he always looks at me (shh!) but some days he looks at me: with this unexplainable ‘look’ of love that makes me catch my breath. When I catch him in those moments, I always wonder what is he thinking??
Its the holiday season and though we as a family do not celebrate Christmas; we take the advantage the moment brings: days off from work and school and life duties to come together and spend a few loud, rambunctious and lively time together. As always, whenever my siblings and I get together, one of three topics are a very sure: men, relationships and catching up with each other’s personal lives.
When Lawrence and I first reminisced on how we met, the story would get so twisted so many times over to make him seem like a cool, confident guy who just walked up to me and like a boss say, “Hey girl, can I get your number?” That is not how it happened! Not by a long shot! Instead, Lawrence told me that he was very hesitant to approach me at first.
Can I tell you a secret? Do you want to know something? I never inspired to a ‘Proverbs 31 wife’ – ever. Every time someone would mention her or preach about her I would feel oh so sorry for her and promise myself to never become like her – ever. I would get so annoyed when my friends/family would refer me to the Proverbs 31 ministries website and encourage me to study her so I could be a good wife to Lawrence.
